Swamp War!
Notes: Garbling of events from the First (1814-1818) and Second (1835-1842) Seminole Wars. Features the assault on "Fort
Apalachicola" (the so-called "Negro Fort" on the Apalachicola River) in 1816, when Florida (as pointed out in the
story) was still Spanish territory. However, an introductory note on the splash places the events after 1832; the fort
is placed in the Everglades of southern Florida instead of the Panhandle; and the story ends with the capture of
Osceola (1804-1838), which actually occurred in 1837.
